The power and speed of water in flood is always fascinating!
On an autumn road trip we came across this quiet lake with the amazing backdrop of autumn colours. Just had to stop and set up the camera.

In Lofoten many of the old fishermens houses (Rorbu) have now been converted into comfortable holiday homes for tourists - such as these in Reine.

In the Peace of the Evening
We arrived late in the evening at this small fjord in Lofoton. It was so beautiful. The water was calm and there was such a wonderful peaceful atmosphere. I hope that I have managed to capture a little of the experience for you here in this shot.

Evening in Venice
I was totally charmed by this shabby, friendly, enchanting, unique city. It is so beautiful. Do visit Venice if you get the chance.
Stormy weather coming - on the beach at Southwold, Suffolk, UK
Another shot from my visit to Lofoten, Norway, earlier this year. The steep mountains rising straight from the sea are very typical of the Lototen islands. The wooden racks on the right hand side of the shot hold the stockfish/dried cod fish which are a vital part of the economy in northern Norway. They are exported all over the world after being dried for several months on the racks which you see here. http://www.nordnorge.com/EN-lofoten/?News=278
Waiting for Spring
A dip in my photo archive - I am so looking forward to this time of the year! Fruit trees in blossom on one of the many fruit farms in this part of south-eastern Norway.

Weather in the Lofoten Islands in Norway, can change from one minute to the next, but when the sun comes out - the light and colours are wonderful.
Taken from the Hurtigruten cruise ship on the way through the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway. A dramatic landscape.
Lofoten: A windy day on the beach
With strong winds, freezing cold water plus rain on the way in from the atlantic, there was no swimming for any of the visitors to this beach at Ramberg, Lofoten, Norway
On the beach in Lofoten - Vikspollen, Vestvågøy, Lofoten Islands.
In the northern part of Norway the sun doesn't go down for a few weeks each summer. It just touches the horizon before rising again. A great contrast to the the long, cold and dark winters in this region. It was an amazing experience sitting on this beach and just watching this phenomena.

The Magic Of Autumn
Autumn has been very beautiful here in the South-East region of Norway this year. This was taken on a walk yesterday. Crisp, fresh air and sun shining on the firey colours of the dying leaves. Autumn is a magical season - full of colour and surprises. A time to enjoy before winter extends it's icy grip.
Season of Mists
The sun rises and lights the ground mist lying in the valley
After the Rain
A shot I took earlier this year in the forest behind where I live. It was a fine experience to see the sun lighting up the mist after the rain shower had passed by.

On the way to the Glacier
On a recent journey towards the western coast of Norway, we came across this little farmhouse nestled at the head of the valley under the glacier "Folgefonna". In the winter there is no sunlight on this spot - from September to April making it a tough place to farm. Read more about the Folgefonna glacier here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folgefonna
Skoger Old Church
Skoger old church is a church of stone from the middle ages on the farm Hanaval in Drammen municipality, Buskerud county, Norway. Construction year is estimated to be between 1200 and 1220 and the church is thus one of Drammens oldest buildings.
On the Pilgrims Way
Best wishes for a Happy New Year to everyone contributing on 500px!! This shot is taken a few days ago in Lier, South East Norway, on part of the Pilgrim's Route which eventually leads over the Dovrefjell mountains. It connected the historically important cities of Oslo and Nidaros (now Trondheim) in Norway. see this link for more information - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilgrim%27s_Route
Winter light is magical. It is astonishing how there can so much variation of colour in the same scene taken at varying times of the day or just days apart. The mist from the low lying cloud was a bonus.
The Red Barn
Winter scene in South East Norway, near Drammen
A foggy day with frost clinging to the trees and snow on the path. Two riders appearing through the fog made interest in this scene for me.
